Mark Wong
Chief Executive Officer
Mark has more than 30 years of experience in agribusiness with particular expertise in technology integration and commercialization. Formerly, he was founder and CEO of Emergent Genetics, Inc. and was a partner at Big Stone Partners, a private venture investment and management advisory firm that specializes in the agricultural and biotechnology sectors. He also has previous founding and management experience in these areas, including Agracetus (CEO), a plant biotechnology company; Agrigenetics (Founder and COO), a seed and biotechnology company; and Renewable Agricultural Energy (Founder and CEO), an ethanol company. His experience includes operations management, technology assessment, business acquisition and divestiture, and international business. Mark holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of Finance.
R. Michael Raab, Ph.D.
Founder and President
Michael invented the company's intein switch technology and leads technical product development. He worked previously in process research at Merck, National Starch and Chemical, and Johnson Wax. Dr. Raab holds a Ph.D. from MIT and a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, both in Chemical Engineering.
Jeremy Schley Johnson, Ph.D.
Co-founder and Vice President
Jeremy is an expert in strategic decision making in the design of chemical processes. Prior to Agrivida, he served at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and at Black and Veatch. Jeremy has a Ph.D. from MIT and a B.S. from the University of Kansas, both in Chemical Engineering.
David Agneta
Vice President, Business Development
David has more than 30 years of experience in the development, financing, and operation of businesses built around new technology concepts. Formerly, he was Vice President, Commercial Development at Verenium Biofuels, where he managed business development activities for cellulosic biofuel projects, including the development of commercial energy crop plantations. He has served as President of Kafus Biocomposites, a development and manufacturing company that grew specialty crops to manufacture high-strength composite materials; and as Vice President, Corporate Development for Arkwright. David holds a B.S. in Engineering from Northeastern University and an M.B.A. from Boston University.
Mike Lanahan, Ph.D.
Vice President, Product Commercialization
Dr. Lanahan has more than 15 years of plant
research and business development experience at leading agricultural chemical
and biotechnology companies, including Monsanto and Syngenta. At these companies, he led programs in enzyme development and enzyme
expression in plants. His achievements include the development of
corn-expressing amylase and phytase enzymes for use in ethanol production and
animal feed. He holds a
Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.
