Agrivida Receives ARPA-E (DOE) and USDA Awards

November 12, 2009— The United States Departments of Agriculture and Energy have announced two separate awards for Agrivida's continued development of energy crops expressing cell wall-degrading enzymes. The USDA funding is part of the Biomass Research and Development Initiative and will provide almost $2M in funding through the award for work in sorghum.  The DOE award is from the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) and provides $4.6M in funding for Agrivida's enzyme development in switchgrass..
